Why are you fit for the officer team?

I’m fit for the officer team not only because of my experience in serving as an officer last year, but because at the end of the day, I was a member before all else. I know the importance of having prior notice, I know the importance of organized meetings/parties, and I hope to provide even more member-inviting activities and collaborative events. Also, my character speaks to how I will fit on the officer team as I prioritize humility in seeking guidance when needed, and empathy, which allows me to create thoughtful, engaging opportunities for members. My perspectives as both a member, paired with my leadership experience, equips me to help the officer team run effectively and intentionally.

What does HOSA mean to you?

HOSA is truly a family of another level, when I came into HOSA freshman year, I took it as an opportunity to meet others who were interested a similar pathway to mine, but I’ve found it to be that and so much more! HOSA is typically defined by their ability to lend a helping hand to the community and by their goal to empower members as leaders through education, collaboration, and experience. Through this, HOSA has provided me with countless community service opportunities. This matters to me heavily as it opens my eyes to the opportunities that I could be chasing even beyond just school events. In general, HOSA has better prepared me for leadership roles in my life and provided me with necessary exposure to the healthcare field by overseeing a lot of competition details.

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

Outside of HOSA, I work as a trainer at Chick-fil-A and plan to participate in additional honor societies during my senior year. These commitments have strengthened my time management, responsibility, and leadership skills. However, I am fully prepared to prioritize my role in HOSA by managing my schedule effectively and making necessary adjustments, including taking time off when needed, to ensure I fulfill my responsibilities to the best of my ability.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

Empathy is essential because every member and officer brings different circumstances and challenges, and being able to understand and support one another creates a stronger, more unified team. Also, communication is equally important as officers must be able to share ideas, respectfully voice disagreements, and be honest about their capacity. I am confident in speaking up when necessary, but I also value humility—being able to say, “I need help” ensures that tasks are completed effectively rather than struggled through alone. Lastly, accountability ties everything together. I hold myself to a high standard and take responsibility for my commitments, while also encouraging a team environment where everyone contributes equally.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

I believe the officer team would benefit from stronger accountability and more consistent communication. Everyone should feel comfortable being honest about their progress and asking for help, but also responsible for completing their role. Implementing regular check-ins and encouraging collaboration will ensure tasks are done efficiently and no one feels overwhelmed or unsupported. Furthermore, more shadowing opportunities for underclassmen officers hoping to earn those roles in their following years. This helps them grasp the basic concepts of leadership and skills necessary to perform at the best of their ability in the role.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

Members should vote for me because I am dedicated, reliable, and genuinely committed to improving an organization that has been so important to me through all my years of high school. I will prioritize my role, communicate effectively, and contribute to a team environment that is both productive and supportive. At the end of the day my goal is to help lead an organization where members feel included, motivated, and proud to be a part of HOSA just as I was!

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I am a strong fit for the officer team because I am responsible, organized, and work well with others. My experience in serving as this year’s HOSA secretary has helped me develop important skills like communication, attention to detail, and professionalism. I am also understanding and approachable, which allows me to connect with others and be someone members feel comfortable going to. I manage my time effectively and stay committed to my responsibilities, ensuring that I can balance my role as an officer with my other obligations. I am ready to contribute positively to the team and help strengthen our chapter!

What does HOSA mean to you?

HOSA means growth, opportunity, and community to me. I joined HOSA because I’ve always been enthusiastic about medicine and wanted to be a club with people who had the same interest as me. HOSA provides a space where students can explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and gain real-world experience through events or community service. To me, it’s more than just a club- it’s a stepping stone toward my future career and a community of people who share similar goals and passions.

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

My main obligations include my academic coursework and taking care of my younger siblings. However, I manage my time effectively and stay organized, which allows me to balance my responsibilities while still being fully committed. I understand the importance of dedication and accountability, and I am confident in my ability to meet the expectations of an officer while maintaining my other commitments.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

Effective officers should be strong communicators, organized, understanding, and dependable. It’s important that they not only lead, but also listen and support the members they represent. I embody these qualities through both my academics and my involvement in health science classes. After serving as HOSA’s secretary this school year, I’ve learned the importance of clear communication, organization, and compassion. I make an effort to be approachable and understanding, so others feel comfortable sharing their ideas or concerns. I also stay organized and manage my time well, allowing me to follow through on responsibilities and remain reliable. Overall, I strive to lead in a way that is supportive, structured, and focused on helping others succeed.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

One improvement would be ensuring more consistent and clear communication, so members are always informed about meetings, events, and opportunities. I also think increasing member engagement is important by incorporating more interactive activities! Additionally, I believe creating more opportunities for members to get involved (whether through volunteering, leadership roles, or participation in events) can help build a stronger sense of community within HOSA. My goal is to help create a more organized, inclusive, and engaging environment for all members.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

HOSA members should vote for me because I am committed to being a reliable, organized, and supportive officer. I genuinely care about the success of our chapter and the experiences of each member. With my background in health science courses, I am dedicated to the field and motivated to contribute meaningful ideas. I will prioritize clear communication, listen to members’ input, and work to make HOSA a more engaging and inclusive environment. If elected, I will take my role seriously and consistently put in the effort to represent and support our members.

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I am a strong asset to the HOSA team because I am extremely dedicated to HOSA’s motto: to lead, serve and learn. I also have knowledge in the inner workings of the team and have dedicated this past year into observing as well as working with the current officers to ensure efficiency and productivity. My primary focus would be to organize HOSA related events in a way where everyone involved is properly notified with all the information necessary, delegate member information so that everyone is on the same page, and collaborate with fellow officers and members that promotes understanding and effectiveness. Throughout this year, I have shown to possess a hard-working, adaptive, responsible, determined, and mindful attitude that will serve as the baseline for the development and growth of our HOSA family.

What does HOSA mean to you?

HOSA is not just an organization to put on your resume or to get hours for college applications. To me, HOSA is a family that helps one another in any way possible, providing support and compassion in ways that develop our mutual bond over the field of medicine. Being in this family grants one the opportunity to grow exponentially in their knowledge of the world around them and presents a way to offer their services for the benefit of those in need. HOSA represents our community as aspiring medical health professionals, willing to offer aid, insight, and understanding to those who seek it most!

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

I have the honor of being the principal cellist for the Grand Oaks Varsity Orchestra as well as being a casual music student at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. Being in orchestra for 7 years now, I've learned how to effectively manage my time in such a way that gives me the opportunity to focus on my vocational passion that is medicine. HOSA is my main goal, my main drive, my main focus, and ultimately, my main passion above all else. Actively participating as an intern this year has prepared me with insight as to how to delegate my time to the things that truly matter. Orchestra has been a big part of my life and will continue to be one of my passions; however, HOSA has impacted my life in ways that have developed me as a person and as a leader. I understand the dedication and effort it takes to be an officer, and I will gladly place those obligations at the forefront of my focus without hesitation.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

An outstanding officer is distinguished by essential qualities such as responsibility and strong communication.

Responsibility is one of the core qualities of an officer and is vital for an organization’s wellbeing. I demonstrate this quality through my active participation as a HOSA intern at every event I worked in throughout this year. Through events such as the Blood Drives and the MS Walk, I have learned that my responsibility as a leader and as a figure people look up to has an impact on how people think and act. Handling registration during blood drives and formulating plans with officers has been critical examples of my diligence, paving a way for a fun, thoughtful experience for members!

My experience in communication also helps with relaying information to the HOSA team and members alike. I know that it may be challenging to schedule dates and events on the fly; but don’t worry, my experience with creating Spond posts, sending out emails, and talking with our members prior to the specified event will quickly alleviate that inconvenience! If there’s anything I bring to the table, it’s definitely my transparency. As shown in my roles as an intern and a prominent figure in orchestra, palatable and effective communication is quite literally built into my system. In this, I’ll be able to contribute to a greater understanding within our community and ensure that everyone is notified in a timely manner.

I am willing to support my team in any way possible, whether it be organizing community events, meetings, files and data, member management, or providing guiding leadership. And in this role as officer, I am fully committed to making a powerful impact not only on the officer team, but throughout the entire HOSA family!

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

Although this year’s HOSA team has been exceptional in their communication and teamwork, I've noticed that sometimes that there is a prominent disconnect between the members and the HOSA officers. Some members have expressed their fear of speaking to officers and often feel as though they are intimidating. A way to help resolve this would be to implement a “Get-to-Know-Your-Officers” activity/section, where the officers describe their passions outside the scope of HOSA. This will allow for members to connect with the officers in a more personal way and will diminish the intimidation factor they seem to have. To go even further, adding more games that feature more officer-member interactions will greatly increase member comfortability and understanding toward the officer team. And as apart of this team, I will ensure an environment where members can relate to the people leading them and feel welcomed to collaborate without feeling pressure or fear.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

If you’re looking for someone to take initiative, communicate effectively, and assume leadership roles within the community, then voting for Giovanni is the thing to do! My passions for ensuring the best possible experience for all members and supporting them to their maximum potential are aspects that will shine through during my time as officer. And the experience in leadership I bring about will develop a more amicable environment that encourages coordination and companionship. I know that the constant assignments and spontaneous decision making in high school are a pain to endure and require so much out of us teenagers. Voting for me, however, will not be such a trouble you have to experience in dread. Ultimately, HOSA is nothing without its community –the people who lead, support, and inspire one another every day. To stand before that community and serve it would not just be an opportunity, but a true privilege. I would be proud to give back to something that brings so many people together with meaning and passion.

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I have a strong passion for both HOSA and leadership. I bring organization, energy, and clear communication, and I’m committed to helping the officer team work well together. I want to contribute to creating a team that sets a positive example, welcomes new members, and manages time and responsibilities effectively. Most importantly, I’m dedicated to helping this chapter grow into an even more supportive, driven, and positive environment for everyone involved!

What does HOSA mean to you?

To me, HOSA is an opportunity to pursue my passions while being part of a positive and irreplaceable community. It allows me to combine two of my biggest interests, debate and the medical field, while developing skills that will support me and all other members throughout life. HOSA has given me the chance to challenge myself and connect with others who share similar goals, and I would love the opportunity to help lead others through that same experience while promoting ambition and positivity.

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

I am actively involved in speech and debate, where I compete at away tournaments about once a month. I also work outside of school, with occasional weekend shifts. I plan to participate in UNICEF Club and join several honors societies in the upcoming year. Despite these commitments, I prioritize time management and organization so that I can fully contribute to HOSA.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

Effective officers need strong organization and communication skills, along with a positive and welcoming attitude. They should be able to keep meetings and events running smoothly while also making sure members feel included, motivated, and excited to participate. Through my experiences in debate, coaching volleyball, and volunteering, I’ve developed these skills and continue to strengthen them. I’ve learned how to communicate clearly, work well with others, and maintain a positive, encouraging environment. I strive to be someone who stays accountable and helps keep HOSA a supportive place for everyone!

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

I believe the officer team can continue to improve communication between officers, advisors, and members. While the current team does a great job organizing events and opportunities, Spond and meetings could be used more effectively to keep everyone informed and engaged. Providing more consistent updates about important dates, competitions, and opportunities would help members stay involved and prepared. Strengthening communication would also help students, parents, and advisors be on the same page so that everyone can participate!

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

Members should vote for me because I want HOSA to be something you genuinely look forward to! From the excitement of competition to the memories made with friends along the way, this club has so much to offer, and I want every member to experience that. Some of my favorite moments in HOSA have come from pushing myself in competition and being part of an environment that’s both motivating and fun. I want to build on that by creating a chapter where everyone feels included, encouraged, and excited to show up, whether it’s for competitions, events, or just spending time with teammates. I’ll work to make HOSA a place where you can grow and make memories.

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I'm fit for the HOSA officer team due to my past experience with running other clubs at our school, and I believe I work very well with others, especially in clubs, so I would be able to collaborate with my fellow officers well and help maintain the success of HOSA.

What does HOSA mean to you?

To me, HOSA means being able to help others in my community through my love of the healthcare field while also being able to learn more about the field through our meetings, guest speakers, and competition!

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

Currently, I am the social media officer for ResearchX, Vice President of FCCLA, social media officer of Spanish Honors Society, and officer in AP Ambassadors.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

I think the two most important qualities in an officer are reliability and initiative. I embody these qualities through my extracurriculars by getting my responsibilities done on time and with quality, and go out of my way to pick up the slack if someone around me falls behind in their responsibilities.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

One idea that could be implemented into the officer team is creating ice breaker activities early in the year to encourage members to get to know our officers better!

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

HOSA members should vote for me because of my leadership qualities, my love and care for the club, and my hope to build upon this club and make it even better next year through increased member participation in our blood drives, guest speaker events, and competition

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I am committed to the clubs I am part of, passionate about medicine, and possess a desire for leadership.

What does HOSA mean to you?

It is one of the best clubs in the school, one that I have found many of my current friends in. It is also an amazing pathway to learning more about medicine.

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

I am currently secretary of French Honor Society, and am running for president. I am also in UIL Math and ResearchX, but am not under any obligations to them.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

I believe an officer must be responsive, and kind. I also believe an officer must be intelligent on the topic they are leading, as well as available. As the French HS secretary, I am constantly dealing with texts from members, which I respond to in up to 2 hours. I am passionate about medicine, having studied it for 2 years and competed in HOSA for two years. Lastly, I am constantly figuring out ways to manage my schedule most efficiently to take care of the tasks at hand. With HOSA being a priority for me, I strive to ensure I have time to fill in any needed aid.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

I believe the officer team should work on approachability, prioritizing member's comfortability in providing ideas. I would also like to prioritize accountability in the officer team, ensuring everyone feels supported in following through on the roles they've chosen. Lastly, I'd like to implement communication with the members through Outlook; as the secretary of French club, attendance is always difficult. I would like to start an email chain letting members know through Outlook when HOSA will meet.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

I am an experienced leader with a genuine passion for HOSA and a mindset directed at helping others succeed. This opportunity is more than just a role; its a responsibility and a service, just like the medical field.

Why are you fit for the officer team?

As a HOSA intern, I've learned to listen and observe. And I plan to continue doing so as a HOSA officer. By listening and observing, I've gained the insight needed to work with a group of people that may be just like me or nothing like me at all.

What does HOSA mean to you?

HOSA has been my safe space and family at Grand Oaks. It means community, haven, and belonging. With it being my first year, one of the few places I have ever felt completely myself in would be in HOSA. Without HOSA, I'd still be that awkward girl buried in books at the library during lunch. (You'll still catch me there sometimes, except now, I have my HOSA friends to enjoy it with.)

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

I’ll be a senior focused on college prep during the 2026-2027 school year. I work Mondays and Thursdays tutoring children at KUMON and plan on joining SNHS, NHS, and Research X.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

Adaptability and initiative. Behind the scenes, I've watched the 2025-2026 officers handle dilemmas like blood drive backups and projector failures without missing a beat. And by working alongside them, I've learned to develop these qualities too. Now, little mess ups are no longer a big deal to me, because I know that I'll be surrounded by a team and members who'll be ready to back me up along the way.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

From behind the scenes, I'd like to compliment the efficiency and camaraderie (or friendship) that the team exhibits. To continue this next year and extend that feeling of companionship and harmony to the rest of the members of HOSA, I'd recommend optional, monthly member check-in forms. This way we could further exhibit our receptiveness to everyone's opinions.

I'd also recommend another officer bonding day after the new interns are chosen so that they may be able to acclimate and feel more comfortable in their new environment.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

The entire point of HOSA is to help its members become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. By voting for me, they'll be voting for their own futures and assuring a smooth, memorable year in HOSA where they could gain exactly what HOSA offers: education, collaboration, and (a very fun) experience. That future starts with your vote

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I would be fit for the Grand Oaks HOSA officer team because my motivations align with what HOSA stands for. I’ve always been a bubbly person, and when able, I love to get the chance to volunteer and help people in need. Throughout my high school career, I have been able to volunteer in various medical settings, which has helped solidify my passion for the medical field. So in HOSA, I can be myself and help people with the same passion find themselves. I’m also not scared to speak my mind if it means helping others in the process.

What does HOSA mean to you?

I have been a part of HOSA as a member since my freshman year. It was the first organization I ever joined at Grand Oaks. Each year, it has always been a fun and welcoming environment, and now I wish to give the same experience to members new and old. This organization has given me several opportunities to participate in volunteering events to help out our community, hear experiences from medical professionals, and has greatly expanded my knowledge of the medical field.

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

I am a part of a few organizations at Grand Oaks as I am the co-president of the biotech club, which meets on Thursdays, the secretary for Grizzlies Joined for Hope, which meets on every 2nd Monday, and a National Spanish Honor Society officer, which meets on 2nd Tuesday. None of my obligations coincide, and I am able to allocate my time and effort efficiently to all of them.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

To be an effective officer, a person should possess time management, organization, leadership, responsibility, and passion. I embody these qualities as I have experience in leading people towards success, as I am an officer for 3 different organizations at Grand Oaks. In these positions, I am able to embody these qualities as I have organized meetings between officers, planned meetings for members, taught students about biotechnology with enthusiasm, and fulfilled any duty given to me to 100% of my ability. I show up to every meeting and every event at any of my clubs, offering to help out in any way possible. I believe that it is important for an officer to show up and to fulfill their promises on what they will do for an organization or club.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

I believe that the officer team should be more connected to each other and to the members. I think that officers should be more interactive with members within meetings, especially general meetings, by communicating with members who are usually alone or kept to themselves, as this would be a great way to increase the connectivity within HOSA as a whole.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

HOSA members should vote for me because I will ensure that GOHOSA will be organized and well coordinated among members, officers, and advisors through cooperation and communication, and I will guarantee a fun year for everyone who is a part of HOSA. I have experience in leadership, and I am committed to being a proactive leader. Additionally, I have a deep passion for the medical field, so becoming an officer of HOSA will allow me to ensure that people with the same passion will feel heard and excited to become more involved with HOSA.

Why are you fit for the officer team?

I will be able to work cooperatively with my peers and contribute in supporting and organizing a positive and active community in HOSA, providing useful ideas while also listening to our members to offer opportunities and create greater connection amongst our chapter. With my reliability work ethic, I am committed to giving as much time needed to support our members next year.

What does HOSA mean to you?

Primarily, as someone aspiring to partake in the medical field, HOSA is an important part in me exposing myself to the field and getting to know other people with similar goals. I believe it's a way to discover myself in a lively community while also finding ways to support my peers and others in need. Especially through volunteer opportunities, I find fulfillment in contributing to my community and strive to commit myself in active participation for the benefit of others and for my own self-growth. It's a community I wish to align myself with for my whole high school career and maintain it at its best.

What are your other obligations? (job, extracurriculars, etc.)

I work twice a week.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for an effective officer, and how do you embody these qualities?

I believe necessary qualities are being able to listen to your peers and having reliability. These are essential to properly communicate with other officers and members to execute effective leadership and establish an organized team that is able to trust you and share their thoughts. I embody these in how I have always lent an ear to friends and peers, making sure that I can give necessary support to them or just be there for them. I seek to understand how they feel and accommodate them accordingly. Additionally, many people have always relied on me to organize events, such as in navigating a new place or structuring meetups. I am also reliable in the sense that people have counted on me to have done my part in a project or my assigned work, counting on me to help when they are falling behind.

What initiatives/improvements/ideas do you feel need to be implemented into the officer team?

I feel that we should implement officer team meetings/dinners to strengthen connection between officers and establish a cohesive team. I think we could give more in depth information and mentorship for underclassmen on competition and different healthcare careers, possibly providing direct one-on-one advice and guidance for those looking towards a medical profession.

Why should HOSA members vote for you?

HOSA members should vote for me because I am dedicated to making HOSA the best it can be. I am willing to take on the responsibility needed to lead and support my peers. With my  organizational skills and reliability, I will help keep our community tied together and efficiently maintain order and structure to set up a fun and meaningful year for increased experiences and community bonding. I will strive to be attentive of the needs of our members and ensure that they feel heard and supported, as I hope to implement their own ideas and lead them to success.
